This website is being made to display my astrophotography. There may be other interests added to the menu to the upper right. There is also a blog link (named projects) up there for the latest projects in space photography. On each page and subsequent blog posts I plan to make the final image, but also the elements shown, such as filter data individually. My cameras are all monochrome. So in the post process phase I have to align and stack all images such as Red all together, then Green all together, and then Blue all together. Then I have to combine them into RGB images and also there is a Luminance channel. The luminance channel puts the brightness to the images and that is also where the details come from. The RGB combination is where the color in the image comes from. Also in another form of nebula imaging I do narrow band. So I stack the Ha (Hydrogen) together, then the SII (sulfur) together, and then the OIII (Oxygen) together, then I will sometimes use the Hydrogen image as a luminance channel. That’s because the strongest signal in space is hydrogen. It even powers our sun.

Generally I photograph anything in the universe. This includes nebula, galaxies, supernova, solar, lunar, planets, star clusters, etc. Photographing earth bound objects really isn’t my thing and I’m horrible at it. I do occasionally photograph thunderstorms if I have time and I am close to them.

For people who want notifications by email for new projects posted there is a subscribe link on the right menu at the bottom. That’s the only thing I’ll email.
